Everytime I think I've got it I seem to come up with different ideas and questions.
BUT I think I (finally) found my topic for ma inquiry:
What defines a good dance teacher?
What do you guys think about that? I would hugely appreciate any feedback because, to be honest, I am freaking out a bit here because everybody seems to be working ontheir inquiries!

That seems like a really broad subject area. Dance teaching is a great way to go as lots of us are looking at it in different forms. But I have been trying to tie it down to a more specific area. As doing research will be really hard with such a broad subject area. I'm looking at teacher student relationships. Others are looking at discipline etc. Hope this helps :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bobbie! Yeah I know, I was thinking of maybe going into taching styles/ techniques and to see which ones students respond to best. I do believe you're right about the topic being too broad but i guess that would make it an awful lot smaller ;)! Thanks. For the advice! Btw, is your SIG group the one you posted on your blog? ReplyDeleteI think it's a great topic that will gradually refine itself into a narrower, more manageable area over the next few weeks.
I think we're all panicking a bit but I also think that by not rushing to find 'the one' it will allow me to discover new information and engage better with discussion groups to shape how I come to the subject of my inquiry.
If you think we might be able to help each other then I'm really happy to chat via SIG groups or in private messages. As a teacher myself, any research into how I can improve my skills is worth it's weight in gold.
